UNIVERSITAS NEGERI YOGYAKARTA ESTABLISHES PARTNERSHIP WITH PT NIHON SEIKI INDONESIA

Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta established a partnership with PT Nihon Seiki Indonesia (NSI). The visit was conducted at the NSI headquarters in Delta Silicon Industrial Park Lippo Cikarang, Bekasi. UNY sent the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Siswantoyo accompanied by the Secretary of the Directorate of Academic, Student Affairs and Alumni Kristiyono, MH, Head of Student Welfare Supriyono, S.IP, Expert Staff of the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs Dr. Cerika Rismayanthi, Head of PI and Internship Division Yosep Efendi, M. Pd and a number of Career and Alumni Center staff.

According to Siswantoyo, this activity aims to strengthen UNY alumni network at PT NSI to help the absorption of graduates as well as support and facilitate PT NSI to organize Recruitment on Campus (RoC) at UNY. "UNY will invite the General Manager of PT NSI to be a resource person for the Career Seminar and form a research team which is a collaboration of several study programs such as Mechatronics/Electronics, Electronics and IT," he said. General Manager of PT NSI Widodo Bodro Husodo, S.E said that the General Manager and the Board of Directors of Japan are very satisfied with the performance of 5 UNY graduates who work at PT Nihon Seiki Indonesia. Therefore, NSI wants to contribute to the development of UNY. "NSI will support the development of education at UNY, except for grants of tools/machines. NSI cannot provide machine grants because the machines they use can produce firearms," said Widodo. According to him, NSI really needs help with the effectiveness and efficiency of Quality Assurance and Quality Check (QA-QC) for some products that are very small in size. So far, QA-QC for these components has been carried out manually involving several employees with the help of microscopes. It is hoped that there is a robot technology-based tool/machine that can check the quality of these very small products.

Currently, there are 5 UNY graduates working at NSI. They are Budi Irawan (Educ. Automotive Engineering) Dept. PPIC, Riyadi (Automotive Engineering) Dept. PPIC, Joni Bayu Setiawan (Mechanical Engineering) Dept. Maintenance, Mohammad Azriel Syahputra (Mechanical Engineering) Dept. Marketing Dept. and Anang Kus (Mechanical Engineering) in the Production Dept. Production.
