Teaching Module Creation Training: Strategic Steps for MGMP Teachers, Tourism Vocational Schools, and Ma'arif Vocational Schools in Implementing the Independent Curriculum

 

Yogyakarta, June 13, 2024 - The Community Service Program (PKM) from a team of lecturers from the PTBB Department, Faculty of Engineering, UNY and LP Ma'arif NU PWNU Yogyakarta Special Region recently held training on making teaching modules for the Merdeka Curriculum for MGMP teachers, tourism group SMKs, and Maarif SMKs. The service team consists of Prof. Dr. Dra. Kokom Komariah, M. Pd., Prof. Dr. Dra. Marwanti, M. Pd., Titin Hera Widi Handayani, S.Pd., M.Pd., and Nur Aulia Wijayanti, S.Pd., M.Pd. assisted by 4 Catering Education students (S1) and 1 Family Welfare Education student (S2). The training took place from June to July 2024 in the IDB Building of the Department of Civil and Planning, FT Yogyakarta State University, and was attended by 35 teachers.

This training aims to equip teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge in developing teaching modules that are in accordance with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum. This curriculum allows teachers to be more flexible in designing varied and interesting learning for students.

One of the aspects discussed in this training is how to adapt learning to meet the needs and learning styles of today's children. The role of technology, creativity, and interaction are the main focus in developing effective teaching modules.

This training is expected not only to improve teachers' competence in developing teaching modules, but also to encourage the creation of a more collaborative, creative and responsive learning environment.

With the completion of this training, teachers are expected to be able to implement more interesting and meaningful learning for their students, thus creating a generation that is better prepared to face future challenges.(zulfa)
