PT Royal Lestari Utama (RLU) Group and FT UNY Establish Strategic Cooperation

Yogyakarta, December 18, 2023 - PT Royal Lestari Utama (RLU) Group, a company engaged in industrial forest plantation management, has established a strategic partnership with the Faculty of Engineering (FT) of Yogyakarta State University (UNY). The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two parties took place on Friday, December 15, 2023, on the UNY campus. At the event, representatives from RLU who were present for the ratification of the MoU between RLU Group and FT UNY were Mursosan Wiguna (Director/Chief People Officer), Anjas Zulfikar (Talent & Organization Development Department Head), and Nadia Islah Delvianti (Talent & Organization Development Officer).

The cooperation program offered by RLU Group to FT UNY includes special recruitment for UNY graduates, research and internships for students and lecturers at RLU Group plantation sites, and farmer empowerment projects, especially rubber farmers in Jambi and East Kalimantan.

PT Royal Lestari Utama (RLU) is a company engaged in industrial forest plantation management through its subsidiaries, PT Lestari Asri Jaya, PT Wanamukti Wisesa, and PT Multi Kusuma Cemerlang, which has concessions in Jambi and East Kalimantan and a processing plant in Samarinda. In addition, PT RLU also has alliances with PT Michelin Indonesia (PTMI) Jakarta, PT Synthetic Rubber Indonesia (SRI) Banten, PT Multistrada Arah Sarana Tbk Cikarang.

PT RLU Group has 7,553 employees, who manage more than 80,000 hectares of rubber plantations in Jambi and East Kalimantan. The company also has a processing plant in Samarinda. From the management of the rubber plantations, RLU together with other group companies produce vehicle tires under the MICHELIN trademark.

On Wednesday, November 22, 2023, RLU Group opened recruitment registration for final year students and fresh graduate alumni. Until the registration deadline on December 10, 2023, 30 UNY alumni from the Department of Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical, and Civil Engineering FT and FV registered. The selection process was carried out through interviews on Saturday, December 16, 2023, on the FT UNY campus.

This collaboration is expected to provide great benefits for students, alumni, and faculty of FT UNY as well as a positive contribution to the development of the rubber plantation sector in Indonesia. With this MoU, it is also hoped that sustainable collaboration between RLU Group and FT UNY can be realized in supporting education, research, and human resource development in engineering and industry.
